Tare Weight
Tare Weight is will add a set weight to a product as a default. This is to account for the weight the box the product will ship in.If you wish to have just the weight of items display, you can set this configuration setting to 0.

Shipping over estimating weight by X%
This is a result of a configuration in the shipping/packaging settings. Specifically, Larger Packages - Percentage Increase. This figures that the packing materials, or filler material will weigh a specific amount over the weight of the products in the box they ship in. By default this is set to 10, so it will add 10% over the weight of the products and tare weight.If you wish to have just the weight of items display, you can set this configuration setting to 0.
